If you are looking for breast reduction for males, please read about gynaecomastia treatment.
During the breast reduction surgery the incisions are made in the way that the scar is left in the area around the areola or beneath the breast. This way the scars are hidden while dressed. The nipple and areola are moved to a higher position and the surplus of skin and tissues are safely removed.
In some cases, the drain might be used while performing the surgery and will be removed in the following days. Normally the patient is discharged of the clinic on the next day after the surgery. Sutures (if any) are removed before your flight back home.
If only a small amount of the tissues is to be removed, the surgery can be carried out using local anaesthetics (and on an outpatient basis).
