In case your only worry is a surplus amount of fat in the abdominal area, liposuction alone may be enough to get the wanted result. If you are unsure, simply sign up for a free e-consultation with our surgeon.
Tummy tuck goes as following: the lower abdomen is incised, leaving a belly button connected to the abdominal wall. Skin, together with the fat tissue, is raised from the muscles to the ribs. If necessary, fat from the sides of the abdomen may be removed with additional liposuction. Abdominal muscles are then tightened and shortened by stitching them together. Superfluous fat and skin are removed at the upper line of the incision. The surgeon then brings the belly button out through the incision and sutures it in its new position on the skin. For the several days following the procedure, the drains are inserted beneath the skin.
